About Lynne
MLA for West Vancouver–Capilano
As an educator and school board trustee, Lynne brings a lifetime of service, leadership, and practical experience to her role as MLA for West Vancouver–Capilano. She has spent years listening to the voices of North Shore residents—parents, seniors, educators, business owners, and community volunteers—and she carries those concerns with her to Victoria. Grounded in deep community engagement and a strong record of advocacy, Lynne is dedicated to delivering thoughtful, responsible, and effective representation.
Those who know Lynne recognize her as diligent, focused, and results-driven. She approaches every challenge with care and determination, working to strengthen a safe, supportive, and prosperous North Shore where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
Professional Career
Lynne’s career in education spans elementary, secondary, and post-secondary classrooms, as well as leadership in professional training and development. She has designed and delivered innovative programs that empower both students and educators, including founding and facilitating the Youth Engaged in Social Responsibility Forums, which encouraged young people to take an active role in their communities.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree and a Master of Education in Administration from the University of British Columbia. In addition to her work in schools, Lynne co-founded a business and education consulting company dedicated to research-based learning, corporate social responsibility, and collaborative leadership.
As an elected School Trustee in the West Vancouver School District, Lynne focused on improving student achievement while ensuring careful stewardship of public resources—balancing educational excellence with fiscal responsibility.
Community Involvement
Service to the community has always been central to Lynne’s life. She has served as a board member of the North Shore Youth Justice and Family Court Committee and as British Columbia’s United Nations Representative for Women Educators International.
Over the years, she has given her time and leadership to a wide range of organizations, including the Canadian Cancer Society, the BC Paraplegic Society, the West Vancouver Awards Committee, the West Vancouver Community Engagement Committee, the West Vancouver Memorial Library, Harambee Canada, North Shore Toastmasters, Violence Against Women in Relationships, the Emergency Preparedness Program, Block Watch, Streamkeepers, Feed the Need, the Coho Society, West Vancouver Place for Sport, and Sharing Abundance.
More recently, Lynne has been actively involved with the Dundarave Festival of Lights, supporting the important work of the Lookout Society in caring for vulnerable members of the community.
Recognition and Awards
Lynne’s dedication and leadership have been widely recognized. She is a recipient of the Prime Minister’s Award for Teaching Excellence, as well as the Coinspiracy Award and the KindActs Award, honouring her commitment to education, service, and positive community impact.
