Thank You!

Thank you West Vancouver, Bowen Island, and Lions Bay!

For the past 30 years, I've dedicated my life to ensuring our next generation is equipped with the skills they need to succeed, with experience as an educator, administrator, lecturer, school district trainer, vice principal, and department head.

Today, I stand humbled by your trust in allowing me to take that a step further by electing me to represent each of our unique communities' interests on the West Vancouver School Board.

I love West Vancouver and I care deeply about its future. We face some big challenges in front of us: evolving student needs, new funding realities, upcoming bargaining, a new curriculum, and changing classroom composition. I believe that I bring the experience, balance, and collaboration needed to navigate this transition, and turn these challenges into opportunities -- and I'm ready to get to work.

I'd like to offer my heartiest congratulations to my fellow school trustees Carolyn Broady, Nicole Brown, Dave Stevenson, and Sheelah Donahue, all re-elected for another term. I am looking forward to working collaboratively with you to deliver real results for our children and grandchildren.

I'd also like to extend my thanks to Pieter Dorsman for putting his name forward and for his service on the board over the past four years.

I'd also like to thank my family for their unwavering support. To my 18-month-old grandson Harrison: you are my inspiration and it's your generation that I'm fighting for. I want you to grow up with an even stronger and better education system than the one we have today.

With all that said and done, now the hard work begins. Thank you, West Vancouver! I am honoured to have your trust.
